Life Defender Personal Water Filter is a good choice for an emergency water filter. It would be quite useful when camping or hiking, but we decided to keep these in our emergency supplies for times of major storms.
Although we usually store water in bottles for such times, having these filters will give us another level of comfort for drinking water. It is small and lightweight, so would be easy to keep with us if we need to evacuate, bottles can be cumbersome and almost impossible. The last time we had a hurricane, taking a few of these for water would have been much easier than taking several large bottles. Hopefully, there won’t be another anytime soon, but if there is, we’ll be able to travel lighter with these, if we need to go.
