Some of our family members love spicy foods including hot sauces. They enjoy trying new products, so I was happy to let them test Chef Cristiane’s Brazilian Gourmet Hot Sauce.
Natural products are the norm in our home; we avoid harmful and artificial ingredients. Chef Cristiane’s uses only natural ingredients, no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. This sauce is all natural. A product of a small USA business, it’s made in small batches.
Like most hot sauces, this one relies on a combination of tomatoes and peppers, with vinegar, sugar, and spices. But the peppers in this sauce are part of it’s uniqueness; it contains malagueta peppers. Malagueta peppers are known for being a medium hot pepper that depends as much on the flavor as the heat. It actually brings a bit more flavor than many of the hot peppers.
And that helps this sauce develop a full flavor, a spicy heat tempered with a tomato and pepper flavor that is slightly sweet. It is still a bit more heat than I prefer (ok, I like “mild” everything!) but for the spicy heat lovers in our family, it was a winner! They tried this sauce with a variety of foods and found it was good with tortilla chips and on nachos, but also on veggie burgers and even on quiche (yes, they love their hot sauce on everything!)
If you enjoy a bit of heat but prefer it comes with full flavor, try this hot sauce.
