Bathroom scales might not be an attractive design feature in your bathroom, but they can be very useful in tracking weight, especially if you are trying to lose weight. But finding a good scale that truly works can be quite a maze to travel, so I was quite happy to review the Smart Weigh Digital Memory Scale.
The Smart Weigh scale is a little smaller than many scales, which makes it easier to fit in smaller spaces and lighter when you move it about, but it also can be a little more difficult to read. However, the digital readout area has a LCD backlight and is large enough for me to read, so probably not a big issue unless you have extreme problem vision. The glass platform seems very durable and is easy to keep clean.
I like the readout changes, green means I’ve lost weight, red tells me I haven’t been diligent about my foods (red means weight gain.) For my daughters who are still growing, red isn’t necessarily bad, of course, but does indicate change. It reads up to 440 pounds, quite a large range compared to many other scales. Although our family doesn’t need that for one person, it can come in handy when we are weighing our pets with us to subtract for the pet’s weight.
The best part for me, though, isn’t the red or green, though I do like that. I love the memory function; it can track the weight of 8 different family members (yes, our family can use that many) and is very easy to use.
The accuracy is very good on the Smart Weigh scale. Verified against several known weights, it comes out with a perfect weight.
It uses 4 AAA batteries and with normal use, I expect they will last quite a while. The manufacturer stands behind their product with a 2 year warranty; they obviously believe in their product. I highly recommend this scale!
